Raw denim is basically untreated and unwashed after the dying process. The fabric is typically richer in color and is a little stiffer than treated denim. The advantage of raw denim is that in time, they will fade and wear in a natural an authentic way as they form to the individual’s body. While factory distressing techniques achieve this look faster, they typically sacrifice the quality of the fabric and the unique individual look. Raw denim does require more care in washing but doing things more naturally is worth it.
